STORY

Seven Times tells the story of mother, Sonia Romano, who has been subjected to years of drug fuelled violent abuse at the hands of her husband Dominic Romano.


We take you on a journey of what she endured by this man, and how she finally reaches breaking point, making the brave decision to escape and leave him. She finally realises that this is the only way that she could give herself and her two daughters, Bianca and Bella the hope of survival and a new  life, free of Domestic Violence.

The story is raw and hard hitting, but yet conveys a powerful message of hope and freedom from abuse.

MONICA SANGUIGNO

Producer/ Concept Creator

Monica Sanguigno is an Australian Talent Manager for Commercial Talent Management. Established in 2015, Monica manages the careers of numerous talent across Australia for Film, Television, TV Commercials, print and extra work. Learning the ins and outs of the Film and Television Industry over many years, she decided to share her story of Domestic Violence. As Executive Producer for CTM Productions, she has brought her original concept idea for Seven Times, inspired by true events, to life. Utilising her knowledge, experience and contacts in the entertainment industry, she established a team of exceptionally talented filmmakers to support this powerful short film in order to raise awareness about Domestic Violence .

DANIEL JAMES

Producer/ Lead Actor

Daniel James is an Australian actor/producer born in Brisbane, Queensland. Daniel has over 15 years screen experience on both Australian and International productions, including feature films, television series, music videos, television commercials and short films. Daniel discovered his passion for acting in his mid-twenties, when he worked on the Shaun Cassidy and Ron Koslow Fox TV series “ROAR”. Daniel’s recent credits include work on feature films series The Lost One, Crisis Point, Blackwater, Space/Time, Battalion, Rise and TV series, Deadly women. Recent short films include: Velvet Boulevard, Biteclub and Brothers Keeper. Daniel  is the co producer for “Seven Times” and other producing credits include the recent short film, "Into the Pitch Black, US & Them, This Time and feature film “Crisis Point”.

ASHLEE JENSEN

Director

Ashlee Jensen is a Director, Producer and Writer based on the Sunshine Coast in QLD, Australia. A Storyteller at heart, her qualifications include a Bachelor's in Education specialising in Early Development, a Certificate in Photography and Darkroom Techniques, an Advanced Diploma of Screen & Stage Acting and an Advanced Diploma in Film and Media through Performing Arts Conservatory in Brisbane. Ashlee has also been fortunate to be selected for a Directors Intensive with legendary Director, Cate Shortland and her husband Tony Krawitz. Ashlee has written two children’s books, directed and produced a variety of creative work including 500 Miles, You Never Know and Project Eden. Ashlee is determined and focused on building a Production company that fosters an environment of support, trust and collaboration, to the foundation from which good stories can flourish.

ANDREW CONDER

Andrew Conder has been creating stunning, award winning images for almost 40 years. With over 30 feature film credits as a camera operator/steadicam. These include many high profile productions including: Pirates of the Caribbean, Peter Pan, Scooby Doo, Crocodile Dundee in LA, Fools Gold, to name a few. Andrew has been the main D.P. for many films including Chris Sun’s Boar in 2017 and again for his latest film Possessed. Andrew has  recently worked on the second session of Netflix's, The Bureau of Magical Things filmed in Brisbane, as well as, the new Foxtel series, The End and the Disney/ABC Police Drama, Blue Water Empire. Andrew has won Best Cinematography at the 2006 Actionfest, 2016 ASIN Awards and the 2020 AFIN Awards with a further 23 Cinematography awards. Andrew has been accredited to American Society of Camera Operators in 2007 and the Australian Cinematographers Society in 2008.

COL LARSEN

Cinematographer

Col Larsen is a seasoned Lighting Cameraman with a creative eye for detail and an ideal work ethic and dedication for quality work. He has an in depth understanding of old school and modern Cinematography. He is a collaborative team player who excels in challenging environments. Col has worked on many high profile productions in Australia including Feature Films and TV Series: Pirates of the Caribbean, Chronicles  of Narnia, Ghostship, Travel Wild, Big Brother, Getaway, Stage Mums, I'm a Celebrity Get me Out of Here UK and Celebrity Love Island to name a few,   Col is also a Video Editor and Lecturer in Cinematography and Lighting Workshops. Col is a full member of the ACS.

WILLIAM MISSETT

Editor/ SFX

William Missett has been involved in production and post-production for over 38 years and has a thorough working knowledge of current and past production and post-production techniques. He has served as a consultant in the development of editorial systems and helped to engineer and build facilities. Bill has recently worked on VFX for Harrow, a 43 minute drama, VFX for Tidelands, a Netflix production and editor on Perfect Messy Love, a romantic comedy YouTube webseries. He is providing editorial and visual effect services for both local Queensland productions, Brisbane and Los Angeles based post production houses. He is also treasurer on the non-profit Sunshine Coast Screen Collective whose mission is to foster and advance the screen-based industries on the Sunshine Coast.

ANNA MCMAHON

Sonia Romano 

Anna recently graduated from The Factory Acting Studio’s full time Acting Program with one of Brisbane’s best, Christopher Sommers. She grants herself very lucky to have participated in the Larry Moss Workshop in Brisbane 2018, held at La Boite Round House Theatre, and has also been a student in the Month-Long Intensive at Shakespeare & Company in Lennox, Massachusetts. Anna has also trained with some of Brisbane’s finest – such as, regular voice classes and coaching with Dianne Eden, Dialect classes with Peter Kent, Screen Acting Classes with Christopher Sommers, and Kristina Sexton, and many more. She has also recently debuted as Director and Co-Producer of her first Short Film, Dream House, as part of On Set Coaching’s Short Film Festival with Kristina Sexton, achieving an honourable mention for Best Short Film. Anna’s latest work includes featuring as the lead female talent in two TV Commercials, and in promotional material for an online project.

SABRINA SANGUIGNO

Bianca Romano

Talented 14 year old, Sabrina Sanguigno, has a list of credited acting and entertainment achievements in Australia. Sabrina’s experience as a child actor could fill a book and has combined her love for acting with associated arts, including song and dance with a list of winning credits and successes to her name. Sabrina has appeared as lead child in TV Commercials for Movie World, BCF and Sun super. Sabrina has had extensive coaching in the arts with acting and dance academies in Queensland and special voice coaching with noted accent tutor, Peter Kent, who has developed her American accent.

REMIDEE HAYES

Bella Romano

Remidee Hayes starting her acting career at 10 months of age appearing in TV Commercials before competing and winning pageants. She has been in five short films and most recently made her first feature film debut in Occupation Rainfall.  In her spare time, she enjoys karate (deputy black belt), swimming, tap dancing/Jazz/ballet at Conroy dance centre and playing the piano.

ROBERT WAINRIGHT

Constable Daniels

Robert trained in acting at The Academy Drama School in London, and has worked extensively as an actor, presenter and voiceover artist in the UK. His experience encompasses a range of UK film, TV and theatre productions, including various feature films, BBC series and the West End stage. Now based in Brisbane, he is steadily building up his experience in Australian productions and is delighted to be part of the Seven Times cast.

JEFF CAMPBELL

Police Officer 

Jeff started in the film industry after graduating from the Australian Stunt Academy on the Gold Coast in 1996. From his work background in Protective Services, he often plays the roles of a Police Officer, Bodyguard, Security Officer etc. He supplies the Police props for many films and behind the scenes, Jeff wears many hats from Producer to 1st AD, Safety Officer, on Set First Aid, PA, Props etc. He has a combined service of 29 years as a volunteer with the State Emergency Services and Rural Fire Service.

MICHELLE BRASS

Office Lady 

Michelle started her acting career as a teenager with a Coca-Cola commercial and theatre work before heading to the UK where she lived for 10 years continuing her training and taking part in film, theatre and voiceover work. After a 20 year break to raise her children she has now returned to her passion of acting, and through 2020 played Rose in the Perfect Messy Love web series and Amelia in The Lost Ones feature film.

HEATHER MADDEN

Teacher/ Voice Over Artist

Heather is developing her acting career and is also an experienced presenter and facilitator. She had her first experience in a major production in 2020 and Seven Times is her second project. Heather has been trained by renowned acting coach Peter Kent She believes that the medium of performance is a powerful influence for discussion and debate on complex and confronting issues and hopes Seven Times will spark belief in envisaging different outcomes for those impacted by domestic abuse. Heather is also a life coach who has developed Live Life Limitless, a wellness and mindset transformation program, and hosts regular events in Brisbane.
